I have thoroughly enjoyed the Yoga classes at Nurture. Marnie is a great teacher. She makes you feel completely comfortable and encourages you to just do as you feel and let go of preconceived ideas of what you should do. Marnie walks through the moves in a way that is simple to follow and provides options for a range of movements suited to different levels. She somehow makes it easy and challenging all at the same time.

The main benefits I’ve gained from the classes is the dedicated time for some mindfulness and to get my body moving. For me, it has helped with relaxation and flexibility. Classes are made up of people of all different shapes, sizes, genders, and ages so I didn’t feel like I needed to fit a certain mould or capability in this yoga class. It’s a very welcoming space.

I look forward to my weekly Gentle class with Marnie, my time to be still and focused. I always leave class with a sense of peace and calm. Marnie explains poses and offers alternatives making her yoga classes welcoming for everyone regardless of age, shape or ability. Marnie combines her physiotherapy knowledge with yoga philosophy to nurture both body and soul.

For me, attending a nurture class after a busy day is just what the doctor ordered! Class allows me to slow down and acknowledge exactly what my mind and body needs! I love how each class is put together so mindfully and incorporates breathing, strength and flexibility but in particular, savasana (relaxation)! A warm and welcoming environment; a nurture class is the place to be!

When I decided to return to yoga after nearly 4 years, I was nervous about not being able to do it and being uncoordinated. I voiced my concerns with Marnie and she instantly put my mind at ease. I love Marnie’s classes because with each pose there is always an alternative and we are always encouraged to listen to what our body needs and not to push the limits. Since returning I’ve noticed that my neck and shoulders are not as tight and I also sleep so much better, particularly the night of yoga.

Marnie is an intuitive, compassionate, and very skilled yoga instructor. She always checks in about any injuries or issues that may impact on our participation in the class. I feel confident about her modifications given that she is also an experienced physiotherapist. In fact, that is why I initially started to attend Marnie's classes as I had a range of injuries that were just not improving with other types of intervention where the physical symptoms were being addressed, but not the emotional aspects that were impacting on my injuries - namely stress. Over time I have had great results and credit this to her careful planning of yoga sessions based on the needs of her participants. Marnie also manages to make the classes fun and relaxing at the same time. I am always amazed at how my body and mind feel completely at ease by the end of the class, regardless of how I felt on arrival. Marnie's classes have really become part of my 'self-care' and a highly valued part of my week.

I absolutely love how relaxing and revitalising a class with Marnie is. After an hour of yoga I feel like a new person, calm, clear minded and ready to take on the week. I feel supported through different poses and I love having options for certain poses if its feeling a bit too much. I love that the focus of yoga with Marnie is respecting my body and what it can do, rather than what I can make it do, and how important breathing is through the entire class.

I always look forward to our next class!
